Hi, I’m Blake Fitzpatrick, owner and founder of Sunshine Movers of Sarasota.
With my wife Ashley beside me, I started Sunshine Movers back in 2013 after working in the drywall business and helping out a local mover. After he kept asking me to come back because he was happy with the work I did for him, I decided I wanted to start my own moving company.
I can still remember the excitement of purchasing our first truck and moving our first clients into their new homes. We started with only one truck and one employee…me.
In that first year, I took the calls, went out for estimates, and serviced every move we booked. I didn’t have a playbook to build a successful company, and I made a lot of mistakes along the way.
I took care of each one of my customers, which quickly became my passion. It gave me such a high to help my clients through stressful moving situations and walk away knowing their problem was solved and they were thrilled with the work I did for them.
I also felt that same passion while taking care of our employees. As a business owner, my employees are the face of the company. I train them with the same values and work ethic I hold myself to, I pay them well, and I offer bonuses and incentives. I believe taking good care of my employees goes hand-in-hand with making sure my customers are always happy.
Born and raised in the Sarasota-Bradenton area, it’s an honor to serve this community while my team and company continue to grow.
When I’m not working in the office, I’m spending time with my beautiful family—riding bikes, attending sports practices, fishing with my two boys, or doing arts and crafts with my daughter. With such an active family, no time is wasted, but you can still find me in the office or out helping the crew during the week.
